Confirmation

Confirmation is the Second Sacrament of Initiation.

Confirmation is the sacrament that completes baptism. In Confirmation the gift of the Holy Spirit is bestowed upon us.

As the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples who were gathered on Pentecost, so the Holy Spirit comes to every baptized person for whom the Church requests the gift of the Holy Spirit. It secures and strengthens one to be a living witness to Christ.

Confirmation Preparation

In the Archdiocese of Regina, children prepare to receive the sacrament of Confirmation when they are in Grade 2.

At St. Gerard Parish, preparation for Confirmation is included with preparation for the Third Sacrament of Initiation – First Eucharist. If your child is entering Grade 2, or if you have an older child that has received the Sacrament of First Eucharist in another diocese but has yet to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact the Parish Office at 306.782.2449 to register.
